What I took

August 9: VVR to Marie Lake

The yurt was nice and I slept very well. I ate breakfast, paid my bill and took the morning ferry back to the trail. The trail was initially crowded with the group from the ferry, but we eventually spread out. I was hiking about the same pace as another solo hiker and we passed each other several times. It was a long climb through forest to the high altitudes I had gotten used to. I eventually arrived at Marie Lake and decided to camp there as I had reservations at Muir Trail Ranch for the next night and did not want to get there too early. It was a pretty lake and I took many pictures as the sun set.
